How to Get Targeted Website Traffic With Proper Use of Keyword Research

Proper use of keyword research can do wonders to your website traffic. But not just any traffic, we are talking of targeted website traffic. Research keyword is a time consuming activity. The good news is that whatever time spent will well worth it. If done properly, you can provide a quantum jump to the traffic coming to your website. Even though it is time consuming, it is not difficult to learn.

Let us take an example of a niche that you are interested in. In this article, we are going to use Muscle Building as our niche product.

To start, you will have to think of what kinds of information people might be seeking in Muscle Building area. You have to think like these internet searchers. You have to think of all the possible keywords that these searchers might be inputting into the search engine. To make is simpler, you go to Google external keyword tool. You type in the word muscle building. This keyword tool will give you a list, usually one page, of some of the kinds of keywords people are seeking on the search engines. The listing will include locally and worldwide.

Next, look for searches that are about 2000 or more for both locally and worldwide. You then copy that keyword, and then go to Google.com. When you get to Google.com, you type in the specific keyword like this: “keyword”. Let us use an example of Muscle Building that we are talking about.

For that word, one of the keywords that I found is muscle building supplement. At the time of writing this the local number is 18,000+ and 22,000+ globally. You take that word into Google.com browser and type in that word like this: “Muscle Building Supplement”. You will type the keyword with quotation mark. Putting quotation mark will means you are typing in the exact keywords that other people that are seeking information on Muscle Building Supplement are typing in.

There is a number that comes up when you type in the word with quotation marks. That number indicates the amount of competition in that keyword research. For the ongoing example, the amount of competition is 90,000+ for that keyword.

Now, how you use that number is up to you. You can write article with muscle building supplement sprinkled in it. You can build advertisement of all kinds using the same word. The key point here is how you use the keyword that you have chosen to optimize your website and thereby get targeted traffic.

You don’t want to stop at one word though, you can repeat the same for other keyword that comes up too.
